Can anyone recommend a clean cheap single ensuite room near Victoria Station?
Q. Can anyone please recommend a clean cheap/inexpensive single room (for one person) that is en-suite and clean near Victoria Station, or maybe even King's Cross? Sometimes it pays to ask around where people have stayed. When looking online at various sites for cheap hotels, there is no way really to know if the rooms are clean. The reviews that are sometimes posted can be horrible. There must be a clean en-suite room somewhere that has perhaps not received a review. I am looking for a room in a hotel that more local people know about instead of searching on a tourist trap internet site. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

How long does it take to get from Victoria Park Station to York Mills Station?
Q. My question is pretty much self explanatory. How long would it take by TTC to get from Victoria Park Station to York Mills Station? I am planning a trip to Wonderland, so this would be helpful to know. Thanks in advance!
Asked by Amy - Tue Jul 14 23:10:01 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think it's about 45 minutes. Up to 5 minutes for the train to arrive, then 20 minutes or so to get to Yonge-Bloor from Victoria Park, and another 15-20 minutes to get up to York Mills. (Plus up to five minutes, when you transfer from the Bloor-Danforth line to the Yonge-University-Spadina line.) To be on the safe side (you never know when there are those signal problems or other delays), give yourself an hour. That should give you a cushion. Better to get there early and have to kill time, then to cut it too close with unexpected delays. ("Oh man, the bus to Wonderland is leaving in 10 minutes and we're stuck at Summerhill?!") Oh, you could call TTC Customer Service at 416-393-INFO during business hours, to see if they can give… [cont.]

How long does it take and how much would it roughly cost for two adults ? (my mom is 60 would she get any cheaper fares on the tube?) I am not living in London and have no idea what I should expect! Thank you.

A. The quickest way is by tube to Victoria station on the Victoria line southbound (about 10 minutes once you are on the train), then walk to the coach station which is well signposted and you should allow about another 10 minutes. If you have time, you will see more and it it is more fun to travel by bus to Victoria station and again walk to the coach station. You need to cross the main road outside St Pancras station to catch the bus. The best source of travel information in London is here

Does any one know how much a taxi is from Victoria Coach station to Hackney Empire?
Q. Also staying in Wimbledon and need to get back to Victoria coach station. Thanks
Asked by batesserea - Sun Jan 20 15:00:23 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Taxi drivers don't much like going to Hackney but if you can get one to take you it will cost about 22 to 25 depending on the traffic. If you walk down from Victoria Coach Station to the railway station a number 38 bus will take you from there to Hackney. From Wimbledon to Victoria Coach Station either take the District Line of the Underground to Victoria or an SWT train to Clapham Junction where you change to a Southern train for Victoria

Why the stuff at the Victoria Coach Station information desk in London, UK are so rude and impolite?
Q. Why the stuff( to be more precise it was a guy at 9:00 to 9:30 PM, Tuesday 27,2008) at the Victoria Coach Station information desk at the Arrivals in London, UK, is so rude and impolite? Can someone please let me, where, and to whom can I make a complain about this African Guy, who looks like doesn't like the job he is doing, and makes all Londoners who are working in the services look bad in the eyes of the tourists?

A. I find that most people in the British service industry are rude all over the country. They act as if they're insulted they have to serve you. Huffing and eye rolling seem to be part of their training. I don't know why they don't get a job in a factory away from people if they can't be helpful. I bet there are lots of nice friendly Polish people who could do a better job.

What's the best way to get from London's Victoria Station to the Thistle Marble Arch Hotel for the best value?
Q. I've never been to London before and I am taking the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station.
Asked by Jen - Mon Jun 26 22:03:12 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First of all, my wife and I stayed at the Thistle Marble Arch last year and were very happy with our room. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. As far as getting there, there's the 'least expensive' way and the 'most convenient' way. The least expensive way is to go on the London Underground (the tube). If you choose this route, you can take the tube out of Victoria station, and the Thistle Marble Arch is a short walk away from the Marble Arch tube stop. That's the good news. If you take the underground, the challenge is that you have to take two trains to get there. You buy your ticket, go through the turnstile, and go to the Victoria Line. You then have to transfer trains to the Central Line, to get to your stop. Changing trains… [cont.]

Coach service from Victoria Coach Station to Stanstead Airport?
Q. Does anybody know if from Victoria coach station in London there is a bus service going to Stanstead airport? I have read that there is an hourly service provided by Terravision, is it right? Coaches leave directly from Victoria coach station or somewhere else? (it is my second time in London so I don't know well the places). Can I buy the ticket directly there? The service is on time? If not Terravision, are there other better services going from Victoria coach station to Stanstead?

A. It's Stansted not Stanstead and you can get there several ways from central London. You can get the Victoria Line (tube) to Tottenham Hale and then the Stansted Express (train) from there. Express is every 15 minutes to half an hour. www.nationalrail.co.uk for times. You can get the Central / Circle / any other line or means to Liverpool Street Station and catch the Stansted Express from there. For tube info go to www.tfl.gov.uk You can get either a National Express bus (www.nationalexpress.co.u k) or a Terravision Bus from Victoria Coach Station. These will take you slightly longer than the train but will be cheaper and you can purchase tickets from the ticket office at the coach station. They will generally run on time but as… [cont.]

Victoria Station to London Euston by Underground?
Q. I'm taking a train up to Victoria and have to get the underground tube to London Euston... Can anyone tell me the Line I have to take? (ex. Northern Line etc) and is it easy to find? I've never been to this station before.
Asked by shescawt - Tue Dec 29 08:18:59 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. When you come off the train at the station at Victoria, walk straight ahead towards the exit following the signs for London Underground. It is right next to the exit door. If you need to buy a ticket, do this before you head down the steps. Once down the steps, follow the signs for the Victoria Line (light blue) and go down the escalator. Then follow the signs for Victoria Line Northbound. Exit the tube at Euston. To get to mainline rail, follow exit signs and you will emerge inside the station itself.
