Does a T-Mobile prepaid sim card already come with a phone number assigned to you?
Q. I have a sidekick LX and my plan ends soon ( in october) and i am planning on getting the phone on prepaid. If I go to a T-Mobile store and buy a prepaid sim card, will the sim card come with a number already assigned??

A. JD you normally cannot get a prepaid phone unlocked and you would have to do so to use your Tmobile sim in another providers phone. Your best bet .. purchase a Tmobile phone (it can be just about any model doesnt have to be prepaid)

A. A few concerns you'll need to make sure of with doing this, in your situation: A) The phone has to be either Cingular/at&t OR unlocked, otherwise the SIM will be rejected out of hand. A. Well what you can do is go into any T-Mobile retail store or indirect retailer to get a prepaid SIM. If it is an option, you can convert your regular account to prepaid and that way you don't need to buy a card when you already have one. Basically it works like your regular SIM card. It goes in the back of your Sidekick. It works with any T-Mobile device because all of them use SIM cards. You do have to activate it once you purchase it due to the company trying to downplay theft. If you have any other questions, you can call the T-Mobile prepaid department at 1-877-387-4324 and they can answer any other questions you have. They're really nice. :)
